Celebrating Black History Month

by In The Hills

The MoD in partnership with Alethia O’Hara-Stephenson and members of the CDDHS Youth Advisory committee and G.E.T. Outreachworks will kick off Black History Month with the historic Pan African flag raising ceremony at the MoD on Feb 1 at 1pm.

On Feb 23 the MoD will host a panel discussion with guest speakers, a Black History Month exhibit and a presentation on the influence of diversity in music. Godfather of Canadian rap Maestro Fresh Wes will be joining in the celebrations.

G.E.T. Outreachworks is a nonprofit group dedicated to partnering with community-based agencies to reach the community-at-large through education and collaboration. The Museum of Dufferin is proud to be involved with helping our community learn about those that have contributed in the past and present, and to those who are the future of this community.
